At a colourful ceremony held at Akropong Grace Presbyterian Church on Wednesday 11th April, the Akuapem Mission has duly been launched.

Under the theme “Christ Centered Churches, Transforming Communities and Culture”, Evang. Dr. Ebenezer Abboah – Offei stated reasons behind the formation of Akuapem Mission. “The first mission in Ghana was first introduced at Akuapem before it went to the other parts of Ghana, it was introduced and propagated… the time has come again, that Africa needs another mission” he noted.

Dr. Abboah said, “in every mission, somebody would have to be called, somebody would have to be commissioned, somebody have to run a journey, run an errand, somebody must begin to take an operation, somebody must send a message…”
The Head Pastor of Akropong Grace Presbyterian Church further continued and stated strongly that, Akuapem Mission is an evangelism vehicle aimed at affecting Ghana and Africa with the Word of God and change human kind needs.

The event witnessed illustrious international evangelist, Evang. Blair Carlson (USA) who was the Director of Evangelism of the late Dr. Billy Graham. Mr. Blair Carlson delivered the theme address and indicated his commitment to see to the success of Akuapem Mission. ‘…. Some few weeks ago I have the privilege to be in the funeral of Dr. Billy Graham….. and I know Billy Graham will be excited to know your plan for mission Africa…… I am here not just to support but be part of the successful story of Akuapem Mission” he noted.
Government Officials, Traditional Leaders, Reverend Ministers, Students among others graced the occasion. The Akuapem M/A Schools entertained the gathering with outstanding choreography performance.

Akuapem North Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Denis Aboagye in his address stated that, the major challenge of the people of Akuapem is not finance or money but how we pursue our things as a people “… recently we went out to do citizen education program with Evang. Abboah Offei and it was absolutely obvious that, how to manage and handle the new Akuapem behavior or Akuapem people is our biggest problem but not money issues”.

The spirit filled auditorium was also lighted up by the songs from Akuapem Ridge Choir. Other ministers who were present are, Rev. Daniel Ofori-Appiah, Rev. Moses Adjocatse, Rev. K.B Asante, Rev. Dr. Nii Amoo Bakossa, Rev. Jerry Dodoo, Rev. Stephen Appiah and Rev. Kwayisi-Darkwah.
